I don’t understand how two people can claim to love each other when they’ve been dating for only two weeks. Call me old fashion, but I think the phrase “I love you” should be used at a special moment, not after your first date.

It seems with our generation, we take the “L” word for granted. Love isn’t when you lay awake at night thinking of that special person, and wake up thinking of them. Love isn’t how you want to be with them every second of the day. Love isn’t expressed with words, or even actions.

Love is when you CAN’T fall asleep until you think of that person and when you wake up, you’re still thinking about them. Love is how you NEED to be with them because they’re the only thing keeping you going day by day. Love is the feeling behind the words and actions. Without those feelings, they’re only words and actions. Love is how you hold your own hand, wondering if their fingers would fit perfectly with yours. Love is when they are your everything; your inspiration, your light, your soul, heart and life. When you feel like you’re flying, although your feet are planted firmly on the ground. Love is when you’d travel clear across the nation if they ask you to. Love is how you miss that person, even when you’re with them. Those awkward moments, they don’t seem so awkward. And when you smile, it doesn’t seem so goofy anymore. But those butteflies and that rapid heartbeat, it still remains. Love is when you look at another guy, you can point out all of their flaws instantly! No, scratch that. Love is how you don’t even look at another guy, because you know that there’s only one guy for you. Love is how you would risk everything, just to be that persons anything. You’d risk it all, no matter what you lose, just to be with him. Love is when you how hard you try to show how much that person means to you, even though you know it isn’t humanly possible. Love is how you sit here, waiting for “that’s love” to update, just so you can see if anyone else feels the way you do. You’d do anything to make them happy, sometimes when it causes you pain. When you would give your last breath to save that person…that’s love.
